It is becoming more and more evident that diet can prevent and even reverse serious illness including many cancers. This means that our health is in our own hands. I find it interesting that there is so much resistance to this vital and life changing information. Two articles, Can Cancer Be Prevented- and Even Cured- Through Diet? This Scientist is Convinced it Can; T. Colin Campbell has set off a war with the food industry, and This Breast Cancer Month, Don’t think Pink- Think Green, present important information that you can use in the discussion of diet, health and illness.

It seems ironic that the type of diet and nutrition that can create good health or reverse serious illness must prove itself in the same forum where poor and misguided dietary practice is considered the standard. Why not create studies that prove that a meat and dairy based diet is harmful instead of trying to prove the benefits of a plant based way of eating.
In the post WWII environment, once the meat and dairy industries were monetized there was no hope for a population held captive by marketing and a compliant medical community. We were the kings of the world but our people were mislead.
Today, there are still vast numbers of people who eat according to the same flawed dietary advice. And while there are increasingly more of us that follow a more natural, plant based diet and enjoy the benefits of a healthier lifestyle, the meat and dairy industries still control the research community, forcing anyone to prove them wrong and muddying the waters when the proof is too threatening.
So it does seem ironic . . . you can’t buy happiness but there are some pretty big players out there trying to sell it.
Thanks for you comments Stephen. Hopefully things will start to change for the better as more and more people adopt a plant-based way of eating.
